Alesse side effects
When using hormones there is an increased chance of developing blood clots or having a heart attack or stroke. These risks are especially high for women that are over 35 and smoke. Since birth defects have been linked to Alesse it is important that it not be taken during pregnancy.
Every medication can initiate side-effects. Most Alesse users have minimal or no adverse reactions. Any signs of allergic reaction should be immediately addressed with medical attention. Allergic symptoms are swelling of any facial features, respiratory distress or hives. Even minor complaints, if they continue over a long period of time or get worse, should be discussed with your physician.
Minor reactions include:
• Acne, changes in facial coloring, freckles and hair loss
• Mild vertigo, headache, dryness of the eyes
• Queasiness, vomiting
• Swelling or tenderness of the breasts.
• Changes in weight, appetite and libido
• Minor abdominal pain, bloating and breakthrough bleeding at irregular times Severe reactions that warrant calling your physician include;
• Common signs of stroke or heart attack (sudden numbness or weakness, particularly if one side of the body only is affected, disorientation, pain behind the eyes, vision issues or blindness, vocalization, or equilibrium, chest pains, a feeling of heaviness or pain moving through shoulder or arm, intense nausea, profuse sweating, general malaise)
• Swelling of the extremities
• Insomnia, fatigue, intense moodiness
• Breast discharge, breast lumps
• Change in vaginal secretions, abnormal vaginal bleeding, irritation or discharge
• Jaundice
• Coughing up of blood
• Fainting Individual reactions can vary significantly so the list should not be considered all-inclusive.
